Hiya, folks.

My Norinco needs a home. I reckon a good belt (everyone needs a good belt now and then), a 2-station mag pouch and a slide will do it for the limited use I have in mind. I'm not looking for plastic or any kind of star-wars looking space holster. I want a nice, clean simple leather rig for range and home use.

There's a lot of stuff available on the ol' internet - Galco, Mernickle, the stuff from Dillon, yatta yatta yatta. Two questions come immediately to mind for me:

1) What have you used and liked? Not liked?
2) Does anyone build a holster in Canada that compares to the big US makers? I'd like to shop locally if I can, and really want to avoid UPS and the Customs Clearance Fee rip-off thay're famous for.

Thanks for your input, as always. Have a good weekend.

I just purchased 3 Menickle 1911 holsters last month and several other components.

I am exceptionally happy with everything and will be making an other order in the very near future for a holster for my Glock 20 and another for my Bisley Vaquero's.

Check this thread out it has photo's of some of my Mernickle stuff.

Customs fee's are PST and GST only.

Call and ask to talk to Bob, say that Cam from the Mission club recommended him.

Uncle mikes

I have carried a Browning Inglis HP in a Uncle mikes Pan Cake Nylon holster for years. Cheap rides good on the Belt easy to conceal light little gun wear ref finish on the pistol.Drys fast when wet. easy access. And very secure. Wearing a pistol 12 hrs a day you learn what works.tried them all.

.

There's usually a brokerage fee as well...

$5.00 if it's cleared by PPB...$40 if it's cleared by UPS

There are occasions when this doesn't get charged for some reason but it always finds it's way on my invlices :(

Yep, this is what I'm trying to avoid - the Brown Bandits of UPS have rooked me twice on this, and I'd just as soon not pay 'em again.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Anyone had any dealing with El Paso Saddlery?
