I'm contemplating a holster for my 1911 that would be suitable for Wild Bunch matches. I primarily shoot CAS and have and everything else I would need but the holster. I'm thinking it might be a way to shake the dust off my Springfield 1911, as it is it's likely to get 50 rounds a year through it. My problem is when I look at the different options for holsters it's a bit confusing:confused: so any recommendations would be a help.

M3 or M7. Cabelas carries the M7. The M3 would be more period correct though you could fake it with an M7 by removing he chest strap.

William Holden wearing an M3.

An M7 from Tour of Duty.

Flap hip holster for 1911

Cabela's in the US has a Pacific Canvas Leather U.S. 1916 Holster for the 1911. It goes for $40 US. It's not too bad, made in China but should be serviceable. They also have leather flap mag holders that are US made.

You can see it at www dot cabelas dot com/cabelas/en/common/search/search-results1.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&hasJS=true&_D%3AhasJS=+&sort=all&QueryText=22-6478+&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=15&Go.y=8

Who else has "The Wild Bunch Series"?

The shoulder holster from the movie is no good for SASS matches for Wild Bunch category. Rules state no cross draw or shoulder holsters allowed. The Mernickle holster would be ideal. Looks great, functions great, last forever. Fair bit of coin though. Happy trails

What about sticking your condition 1 1911 in your belt like Warren Oates in the Wild Bunch?
