My 1911 collection does not and will not ever hold a candle to yours NAA haha. Totally jealous, but at least I have good taste for being part of the plastic fantastic generation.I owned a S70 Colt Combat Commander in .45 ACP before the one I have in 9mm, too.

I mentioned previously owning a S70 Colt Combat Commander in .45ACP but left out a key part. I traded it off after getting the Norinco Commander in .45 as, believe it or not, the Norinco shots circles around that old Colt!My 1911 collection does not and will not ever hold a candle to yours NAA haha. Totally agree. Dan Wesson is definitely the sweet spot. I sold a DW 10mm and regret it.The list of “Best” 9mm 1911’s is essentially the same list as “Best” .45’s. What’s your budget? I think Dan Wesson sits in the value sweet spot. In my experience, less expensive guns have easily found faults while more expensive guns show rapidly diminishing returns.
If memory serves you have a Les Baer 10mm. I’m certain that helps to ease the pain!Totally agree. Dan Wesson is definitely the sweet spot. I sold a DW 10mm and regret it.
Getting rid of the STI might have been another a mistake but I never warmed up to the STI polymer 2011 grip. I think DW and Les Baer are good examples of different philosophies. DWs uses state-of-the-art, high-tech manufacturing equipment with excellent finishing and QA/QC. The result is a consistent product with exacting tolerances. Les Baer is old school hand-fitted which is evident and why they have a long break in period. Maybe that gives it some character. If I was to do it again, I would have just bought the DW.If memory serves you have a Les Baer 10mm. I’m certain that helps to ease the pain!
Hindsight is certainly a thing. I still occasionally kick myself for not buying that STI Perfect 10 you were selling.
