I don't locktite mine. I snug them up with a hex wrench (just a little). This way they don't strip when I take them off to clean the mag well, mag release and backstrap.
If you want put blue loctite on it sparingly -- let it dry overnight -- the screw when then naturally lock in -- and yet all that is needed to remove is a bit or torque exterted to "pop" the lock -- this is the same method KAC uses for all their screws.
"Blue" loctite works great , as Kev already mentioned , use a lil and your good to go. It will not shoot loose, but can easliy be turned when you are taking the grips off.
Keep in mind that on most 1911s the grip screws thread into bushings that in turn thread into the frame.
So before you Loctite the grip screws to the bushings you may want to consider staking or Loctiting the bushings to the frame, so you don't end up unscrewing the bushing when you turn the grip screw.
Kuhnhausen (p. 74) suggests red Loctite to secure the bushings to the frame.
