1911 jammed open with round in chamber

OP, is it only the casing that is stuck? Was the primer struck and the projectile fired down the barrel? Does the extractor still have a hold of the rim? What brand of ammo? Another member on this forum recently had a similar problem. The Winchester 9mm round didn't have a flash hole so when the primer popped it rammed the round into the barrel.

Come to think of it, it was VERY stuck to begin with.

Only way its coming apart is force now. Cant get the slide stop out to separate the top end from the frame, extractor is away from the case. Cannot take the barrel bushing and spring out because the 1PC guide rod.

ALL ya can do is bang it hard on the corner of the bench. or use a 2x4 hammer.

I had a Norinco 1911 do the same thing to me. It turned out to have a barrel link that was the wrong size. I returned it to the dealer and they replaced my pistol. Apparently this happens with Norincos from time to time.

Barrel link, lower lugs, slide stop, could be a few different things and I agree that a lot of force is needed here and the table remedy is top of the list. Good luck!

get a friend and put the thing muzzle down in a vice. The table edge works, but a vice with jaws open just so gives you two edges to work on. Have your friend hold the gun on the vice, get a 2x4 and a hammer. put the 2x4 on the frame and hit the 2x4 with the hammer smartly and with force. Driving the frame down through the vice and having the vice hold the slide. If the round is live. take the firing pin out.

Last night I attempted to try and to see if its possible. Its not PLUS you need to push in the firing pin which would if was a live round pierce the primer.
