1911 mag release

hi guys, i am a 1911 newbie planning to jump aboard. i am wondering is it possible to get a ambix mag release or aleast switch it to the right side ( i am left handed)

Not that I have seen (which means nothing). Lefties typically just dump the mag with their left index finger instead of their thumb and that works fine for me when practicing weak hand shooting.

that's worked for me for going on 40 years- the only thing a left handed person really needs is the ambi safety- everything else can be manipulated by the index finger of the left hand-as you get to know your gun better, this will become self-evident

Leftys and 1911's....

I'm a lefty & use my left index finger to release the mag. Ambi safety is nice but I also use the left thumb over technique to manipulate it on/off if necessary where there's no ambi. Most of my 1911's have no ambi however.

In ~ 30 years of owning 1911's being a lefty has never been an issue.
