I bought a used 1911, came with one really pathetic, probably 30 year old, looking magazine. Definitely going to need more than one, and don't even really trust this one. There are obviously a ton of magazine options for 1911's, so what are people finding to be the most reliable overall? Mecgar, Colt, Wilson, Chip? What say you CGN?

I have chip 10 rounders to take advantage of all the capacity we're allowed. Function flawlessly

Brownell's sells them as a single or as 3-packs for a decent price. If you specify shipped via USPS rather than a courier the shipping has always been something like $10.99 for me. As an additional bonus if the order is small I've had most stuff get delivered without any HST or duty collected.

What are the differences between the various Wilson or Chip magazines? Ie, Wilson alone offers the "Tactical Elite" "Wilson Rogers" "Service Mag Plus" Same applies to Chip mags. "Power" "Power Plus" "Shooting Star" etc.

Usually differences in followers and or mag base, finish & material for the Wilson mags. A lot of it is fine details but after you spend a lot of time with 1911s you will get picky about your mag details too.

Brownells had a pretty decent sale on the WC TE mags right now and I'd been thinking about ordering the 1911 shop manual from them anyways so I went ahead and ordered the manual and a a couple mags to give them a try. I guess I'll see how they run and go from there.

Arms east has had Wilson combat mags in the past. I have bought .45 and 9mm mags from them for reasonable prices. I regret selling off the .45 mags. I don't have a .45 at the moment, but they were the older model with the plastic follower (so very smooth to load!)

Another shout out for dlask....blued or stainless....great quality and affordable.

My 1911 came with 3 or 4 dlask magazines and they've been flawless for 500rds so far, a simple 8rd magazine that works.
For 10rd, I'd be looking at tripp's as well.
