Hello, pistol-owners! I need a little help with my Norinco 1911.

The magazine has been getting stuck going in AND coming out of my pistol. Going in it gets stuck about halfway up, then needs to be slammed in to seat. Coming out, it generally falls about an inch, then needs to be removed manually. I know the common issues of grips screws and magazine release, but the grip screws are not sticking into the well, and I just got a brand new Ed Brown extended mag release with the same issues as the old one. I have new Wilson Combat magazines, and the problem persists regardless of the Norc mag or Wilson.

I have a new sear spring, trigger, and hammer, and I've already checked to make sure the magazines are clearing the trigger bow. It's fine!

I'm at a loss, as every time someone suggests something else, it doesn't solve my problem. Also, to add to it, this also causes issues with the slide locking on the last round. About half the time it doesn't lock open properly.

I'm getting scratches on the left side, front, and back of my magazines. (Back - right in the middle, left side - a few centimetres back from the front, and the front - on the right side.) I'll try and get photos shortly.

Help!! Any suggestions? It's majorly frustrating, and it almost seems like my magazine well is too small or uneven or something!

And please, constructive ideas only. I love my Norc, and it shoots beautifully, I just hate this %^&*#@ magazine release issue!!

Take a sanding block , wrap emery cloth over it and polish the mags . every where you see scratches , better yet just do the whole mag until it goes in freely.
 
I'm no norc specialist by any means, I tried one today that I bought and received last week. I got McCormick mags , norc's and Wilson combat, McCormick were the one i had less issues. Mine shoot nice but is a piece of #### realibity wise. Fail to extract, double feed name it every 2-3 rounds, exept with McCormick's it does happens but less often. As far as i know everything is stock in mine. On norc mag they don't even feed in mine ... so best of luck bud on my side I'm thinering about new extractor or clean as hell and dump it in oil and try again. Or returning it to buyer or to the next guinee pig. Might help to remove some paint on mag who knows if its your issue
 
Take the grips off, and put a mag in. It sounds like burrs in the magwell,(norcs are known to need de burring) you may be able to see where it's rubbing. It also could be the grip area is crushed bit which may or may not be able to be fixed. Are you the original owner? Previous owner may have squeezed it a little too tightly in the vice
 
As said above with the mag removed feel inside where the grip screws are located, seen this cause problems in the past, if its crushed you can open it up with a wooden drift and feller gauges
 
Remove mag catch. Insert mag. If it is still getting hung up, you can possibly rule out that option.

Remove slide. Looking top down into the magwell, slowly insert the mag and see where it could be getting hung up. Pay close attention to the location of the wear marks on the mags as an indicator to the problem spots. Remove burr or knock down protrusion with a file. Reinsert mag, repeat if necessary.
 
I would strip the gun and take the catch out, file , clean up in the mag well, before I would start sanding good mags, Norinco, who cares, The catch is the usual problem, I have 2-3 and they work great.
If you don't have a good fine file, wrap some 320-600wet dry sandpaper on a stick and polish in inside of the mag well if that is what it needs, you should be able to see where from the marks on the mags
 
Scratch at the back could be the bottom locating leg of the flat sear spring sticking too far into the magwell. stick your finger in the magwell and check if spring can be felt
