been a while since I had a 1911 and that being the reason for this question, I used to use Wilson Combat mags but that was 15 years ago. I was thinking of getting back into the game so my question is.

who makes a quality competition 1911 single stack magazine, with 8 round for 45ACP with holes drilled in the base plate for mag bumpers?

I still use Wilson's after 20 years, they have never failed me and for those disciplines that require the magazine to be flush with the base of the pistol try Tripp Research.

Wilson ETMs. No need to add a bumber pad.

I have 35 Wilson 47D mags ranging in age from 25 years to 2 months old and the old ones run just as good as the new one. The 47D is the ultimate 1911 mag, others will argue, but show me a 1911 mag with more of a proven record. There are other great magazines out there, but the Wilson set the stage for the true quality 1911 mag and still leads the pack.

HI I have used Kimber Pro tac mags.8 rounds ,holes to count rounds , telfon fowller, three interchangable base pads, short rubber , large rubber or plain steel. .Got them at EPPS. see header on this page.

I use both KimPro Tac-Mag's and Wilson 47D's. IMO they are both great, but I kind of like the plastic follower in the 47D a little better (and the cheaper price).

:bump:

The reason for the bump guys is to ask who or where in Canada is the best place to Wilson combat 47D 1911 mags both for price & service or is Brownells the place to go?

I believe you can order 47Ds from Brownells if under the $ limit for export. Theyre usually around $30-33 US each.

Williams Arms in Port Perry, ON will order from there too.

I have an account with Brownells but just wondering if I can get them here in Canada for close to the same price then I don't have to worry about the export limit and other issues.

Couldn't agree more I love these mags and have never had a problem with em. Good to hear that 25 year old ones are holding up well. I only have six though hmmm time to log in to brownells for more:)
