So i got to work on a little project i wanted to do on my Norinco. I stripped all of the bluing from the pistol, sanded and buffed slide, frame ect. polished trigger, and new wood grips. Got everything cleaned and oiled and put back together. I have to say i was blown away and love how it looks now. The trigger is 10 x better as well. Still a little creep but not squishy at all. Breaks nice and clean. I think its a nice introduction to modding handguns and i had fun doing it also.

What do you guys think?

Not getting the disguise part.
Won't stripping the bluing leave it open to rust?

How much time did you spend on it total if you don't mind me asking? including all the small parts and what not...

I think since the 1911 requires a lot more time, energy, and care to master than a modern handgun such as a Glock or M&P, what you did is awesome and one of the best ways to familiarize yourself with the platform. Thumbs up!

It will be more prone to rust as its bare metal but i have applied several coats of oil and let them seep into the mores of the metal in between coats. Shouldn't be to bad as long as I keep it clean and oiled. I might look into a sealer of some sort.

I spent $14 on the grips and a jug of white viniger.

Careful with the RUST. bcuz that is not stainless...as long as your on top of it you'll be fine. Looks good bud!
