O.k.. so beside STI Single stack model in 9mm.... That I'm already considering and familiar with their models.......No, don't want other Calibre, Already have it in .40 & .45

What other 1911 made brands you recommend in 9mm ? other than the really cheap ones... Models like Kimber, Sig, Ruger, etc.... Please give reasons/experiences for why you recommend such ?

I have a Dlask Commander size 1911 in 9mm. It has a nice trigger and feels well balanced to me. But the two piece guide rod makes stripping a little more cumbersome.

Look at the S&W Pro Series 1911. It has similar suite of features as the STI Trojan, but in stainless.

I'm familiar with all these, but any feedback about any of these ?
Which have good internal parts that don't need changing to do trigger job, and fine tune ? for ipsc.
some guns std. parts are not great and it's best to swap for better parts if going to work on the gun ?
Which are known for not needing parts swapped, and which are better quality ?

I wish I could offer some better input on the S&W, but most of my 1911s are STI. I bought my dad a S&W E series in .45 ACP last Christmas and it's a great pistol, but I don't know if would hold up as well as the STIs.

if you are looking for an IPSC pistol I'd stick with STI - the data set is there as that is what most guys are running in Classic. Also, the replacement parts are standard 1911 (no external extractor, no firing pin safety, etc).

As far as parts go, I'd replace everything... But that's just me. The guy who placed 2nd in Classic at Nationals runs a completely Stock USPSA - which has exactly the same ignition parts as the Trojan. And he pumps quite a few rounds though his pistol.

I went trough a whole season of ipsc including many practices and drills with a Para expert gi without replacing anything except a beaver tail and mag well. Never had a single problem even though it's a low end pistol. I don't know why you are worried about replacing parts.
