1911 movies

Last Man Standing (1996; it definitely warrants repeating!)

The Wild Bunch (1969; that movie single-handedly brought the 1911 into its own Cowboy Shooting niche)

Face Off (1997)

The Punisher (2004, the one with Travolta as the bad guy)

Thief (1981)

The Getaway (1972, but also the remake)

We Were Soldiers (2002; it was Sam Elliott's choice!)

I had thought Chuck Norris must have used a 1911on "Walker: Texas Ranger" since it's the Ranger sidearm. But no, it's a Taurus PT92. Doesn't make sense.

Thief takes the award with the Jim Hoag long slide.

Thief, excellent flick, early Michael Mann flick which leads to shows like Miami Vice (Jim Zubiena episode in particular), Crime Story and also Heat in which Al Pacino has a 1911 I think.

It's tv rather than movie, but Longmire gets the nod from me. Love the show, adore his sidearm: (this is a fan's recreation, they don't have many good shots of it during the show but it's pretty spot on)

Forgot all about Longmire, and he just shot a guy last night, trying to steal his truck.

BTW - Do you know if that holster is IDPA approved?
