1911 movies

Forgot all about Longmire, and he just shot a guy last night, trying to steal his truck.

BTW - Do you know if that holster is IDPA approved?

Don't see why it wouldn't be. I personally haven't had any luck finding one anywhere. Galco speed paddle if you're wondering.

I second Street Kings. Best 1911 movie by far IMO, and probably tied with Collateral for my favourite overall handgun movie. Keanu Reeves showing his skills as a gunfighter way before he became John Wick.

Yes, he's using a S&W 4506 in this clip, but it's the only good quality clip I could find on the youtubes...

Thief, excellent flick, early Michael Mann flick which leads to shows like Miami Vice (Jim Zubiena episode in particular), Crime Story and also Heat in which Al Pacino has a 1911 I think.

All part of the legacy. I think it was a Colt officer model that AP had, with some ivory grips. All of Mann's movies had a 1911 tucked away somewhere. Miami Vice was full of them, and the movie even had a little SVI Tiki.

Last Man Standing hits all the high points for me. American Southwest, dust bowl tale, 1911 (slides sounding like swords drawn of course), and Ry Cooder for a sound track.

I like James Cameron's The Terminator Starring Arnie & a very hot Linda Hamilton (1984)
Laser sights have come a long way.

It is time I watched this classic again.
Michael Mann's "Heat" Starring Robert De Niro & Al Pacino(1995)
Val Kilmer also had a nice HK91

My Favorite 1911 Movie is " The Getaway" The remake with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Lots of gun play. He uses a Colt Cold Cup National Match I think, she uses a colt too. The bad guy uses a colt revolver. Lots of action a gun play, I love watching it anytime its on.

Under Siege, another Segal movie. And he does an old school brass check at one point.

Runaway and Terminator 2 have the same custom Detonics ScoreMaster/CombatMaster hybrid, and a Colt slide on a Detonics frame.
