Norcs are sharp in areas they don't need to be. When you pick up a high end 1911 you will notice how well it's finished.
When you pick up a norc you will see what we are taking about.

Every end or edge is sharp it's literally right out of the mill with a quick buff

I plan on buying a Norinco 1911 after basic training, I like the original GI look of the 1911. Would it be a good idea to dehorn it and reblue it after?

That's really your call. It won't effect fuction at all. It's only a personal touch

Depends on the pistol...last couple I had were pretty good except fot the slide catch and thumb safety...

Noob to the 1911... what's the "horn" and why is it beneficial to remove it?

I have a newer import and other than touching the underside of the thumb safety and slide lock up a bit with a file it really didn't need anything else done.
