1911 Norinco failure to extract?

If you take your slide, and slip a casing behind the extractor, is it hard to move the case up or down? It should fit and hold, but be quite easy to slide up or down. I'm betting tight extractor - there are no signs of peening the upper lugs, and no hammering on the legs - one or both would be present in the event of timing issues. The tight extractor carries the case back on to the mag, and the top round, the resulting drag causes the slide to stop.

An empty slips in behind the extractor fairly easy. But it brings to mind that this is an area that i don't pay enough attention to when cleaning. Could that be my issue?

slide stop

FWIW,Norinco slide stop pins of late are very undersized, and jump to the left upon firing just enough to lock up the slide
On extraction,Next time you fire gun, hold your left thumb on
The slide stop, also check how close your round comes the mag lug upon chambering.

Interesting.... I will check next time i have a jam. The slide stop should be away from the slide, no?
A new slide stop is in order?

The slide pin hole in a Norc frame is .20",the pin is .190",the lug that is pushed open by the mag is too long, and gets hit
By some ball ammo upon chambering, try an STI slide stop.
Best of luck

Cheap fix if it works.
I was just reading about slide stop issues on the 1911 forum, and one fellow suggested filing or drilling a small divot in the end of the slide stop to engage the slide stop plunger in a more positive manner than just with a flat surface.
But i will buy an aftermarket slide stop if that's what it takes.
The beauty of a Norinco is that you can customize without taking away it's personality. It never had one to begin with.
Just sayin'.
Thank you all for your help, by the way.
