1911 norinco from the new batch

I will post pics of the NP-29 and NP-30 as soon as the pistols arrive and the package gets opened. :)

I'm tracking the package and it should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

The best presents are the ones I make to myself.:D

What happened to the beavertail and hammer on the new batch of np-29, it doesn't match the marstar pic.? Looks very plain.
+1 and the slide serations don't 'line up' with the grips either

And if you look real close at the barrel (by the ejection port) you can see that it has .45 ACP engraved into it.....

It's not a 9mm NP 29

OK I think I had a blond moment:redface: piper did say he had a 1911A1. BTW for $325 it is ###y and I take it looks plain back. I also have an order with marstar for an np-29. I wish marstar would update the photos of the norincos, the two tone np-27? looks nice as well as the commander.

Okedoke.

The first two pics are the guns still in the grease.

Next two are after being cleaned up a bit.

I'll take some pics of the grip safety/MSH differences between the two in a day or so.

First impression is very good, particularly the fit/finish of the NP-30.

Triggers on both guns about 6.5 Lbs. fairly clean break.

More later.:)

The Cocker

I'll get a couple pics, maybe some side by side with a few colts for comparison.

I bought two extra mags from Marstar. I have heard somewhere that one of the Ruger auto mags can be made to work. the Norinco mags for the NP-30 seem well made. I'll try them and see.:)

Norinco 1911's

I have one of the older Norinco 1911 A1's. It is a companion piece to my Marlin Camp 45. I use 23-round extended magazines from Colt that work perfectly in Both the pistol and the carbine. Great fun!

I like that NP30 . What magazines does it take ?
as in ; do Para mag's work ?

It takes its own mags. The Para's don't work. The Capasians might, but I haven't tried. New mags are about $30-35 bucks, at Dark International.

I have a first gen NP30 and its one of my fav's. The norc NP30 mag seems sturdy and reliable. I have quite a few and no issues to report. I put close to 1K rounds through a NP30 in a single day (PPC course) and it had no issues.

I also use the NP30 for teaching the CSSA handgun course; monthly. This pistol takes a beating....and comes back for more.

Amazed at Halgar's....mine was shipped dry. Bone dry.

That’s a fine looking pistol.

My Norinco is one of the earlier ones that has the parkerized slide. I haven’t done a thing to it but put rounds down range. The trigger has smoothed out very nicely and the slide to barrel play is really loose (it sounds like a rattle when you shake it.) It still makes decent groups though; my wife can make one ragged hole at 15 yards – she’s real cute too :) .

Nice gun. I wish I could have bought a dozen M14s and a dozen 1911’s but it still wouldn’t have been enough.
