1911 parts

Well you will most likely pay the price of a full gun. Any decent barrel will run you $250+, slide will run $300+.

And if you are just planning to put it on a 45 or 9mm frame, then you need a separate ejector. Plus slide parts.

If you can find it, a SAM 40 is around $600 complete, then sell the frame and parts you don’t need

Anyone know a source for a complete 1911 slide and barrel in .40 s and wesson

Not a 1911, but I bought a NP58, brand new, on sale, delivered to my door, for less than $300.00; it shoots like a laser beam (I'm not even kidding).

Lots of flash and no penetration? :)

No, straight and flat; it likes to be loaded on the top end of the "hot" side to function reliably. I had accumulated a crap-load of .40 brass, so I figured I would buy something to run it in. I tried a .22 conversion for my 1911, and while it functioned OK, I was not happy how it shot; so I sold it the same week. Unless it is a modular system like Glock, conversion kits can be expensive and hit or miss. I'm not fond of the Sig/Sig clones with all of their stamped metal parts, but that thing is growing on me, the more I shoot it. I still shoot my .45 a lot, and it has not hurt my accuracy with that pistol either (it likes moderate loads).

Wanstalls could probably bring you in a fusion top end, they come with the barrel pre-fitted all ready.

Because of the bullet profile, there will likely be some ramp work to be done regardless. Truncated cone usually feed better than round nose flat point bullets. It will not be plug and play.

What are you taking about? Fusion fits the whole top end the only issue you might have is if there's something goofy with the frame.
