I need some information from the community. I own a Norc 1911 gov't and I'm installing a match barrel into it. Everything is lining up expect 1 thing - the barrel link pin. The link on the Norc appears to be 0.2m wider than the hole in the match barrel. First is this common and can you buy different diameter pins?

Thanks

Brian

Why not just replace the link, and use a pin that matches the barrel and the link? You could also install a slightly longer link, and tighten things up a bit. Check Brownells for options.

The pin diameter is supposed to be standard.. but the Norc pin who knows.. they aren't exactly what you would call made to great tolerances...

mill/stand/grind/file/turn the pin a little and loctite it to the barrel not the link!
the links come in 5 lengths ( if memory serves!)

Thanks for the quick responses. I thought the pin diameter was standard, but wasn't sure. I know the length of the link can vary. How do you know what length you need?

Brian, get yourself a good 1911 shop manual, you won't regret it, and it will tell you everything you need to know. Jerry keunhausen(sp?) has a good one. AGI may have a good dvd as well.
