Now this i don't get. My series 80 Colt has been shooting low since i bought it (about 5 or 6 inches at varying distances). I took it out again Sunday to see if maybe i was flinching or something. After bench resting it and Trying other kinds of ammo, it still shoots low! So i got someone else who was at the range with me to try it (didn't take much persuasion lol) and he shot a 3" group right around the center! I'm pretty sure i'm not flinching, could it be something else? I'm tempted to just buy an adjustable rear sight for it.

Try putting a dime on top of the front sight and dry firing the pistol, if the dime drops, you've got some work to do. If not, make sure your point of aim is correct - it's a combat gun, if you're holding the sights across the bottom of the target, you're aiming low. You need to cut the target in half with the properly aligned sights.

Maybe I'm off the mark here a bit, but has it been bore sighted? Maybe the sights are just off. Thought it might be a place to start troubleshooting.

I know that we never want to admit it but when your buddy can do it I'd say that the evidence is pretty firm that you've got at least a little bit of a flinch or other issue.

Perhaps start by easing up your grip a little. It should be like a firm but friendly handshake. If you hold too tight it makes it hard to isolate the motion in your trigger finger from the rest of your hand and you end up pulling the trigger with your whole hand.

I would suggest going one step further than having another shooter use your gun & then
shoot on centre.
See if you can use a pistol owned by that other shooter and see if you still shoot low.
Process of elimination.
