1911 single stack 10rd mags,who's using?

I've owned/shot 1911's for going on 30 years. I have a couple of 10 round single stack .45ACP mags.... just because... they aren't my preference... I prefer good quality 8 shot mags that fit flush. But that's just me.

I got Wilson Bureaucrat, for IPSC, no problem with them, they feed weel, no jam, excellent quality mag. But , If I was carring, I will be going for 8 rounders, Wilson again

I think the 10 round mags make the 1911 look disproportionate. Go with the 8 rounders. I like the Kimber Pro brand as they are smooth and not gritty when charging and changing mags and you get a choice of two different sizes of bumpers to attach to the bottom of the mags.

I would have to concur with everyone up to this point. I have two wilson combat 10 rounders and they work very well - especially if you are wanting to show your buddies how you can put 11 brass in the air before the first one bounces off the tarmack, but quality 8 rounders are by far more pleasing to the eye.

I have 4 McCormick 10 rounders and 5 8 rounders. Don't even touch my 7's. One day I'll get some Wilson 47Ds. They do look alot nicer and the follower intrigues me.

I use a mixture of 10s and 8's depending on the COF and the round count.

Like above, I prefer flush fit 7 or 8 rounders with no bumper pad.

I do use the 10 rounders with my IPSC 1911 though. CMC's from Epps. They work fine and my buddy's Wilson ones function no better. I couldn't justify the higher cost so kept on going with more CMC's.

I've said the same thing word for word here and on other forums. The Kim ProTac stainless mags are great and I've had no problems with the dozen I use. Can order direct from Kimber by phone too.

I use 10 rounders for IPSC. The McCormicks are good, Wilson are good too, but the Metalforms are the best. I eventually had problems with the McCormicks and and Wilsons but the Metalform have never failed me.

As far as 10 rd 1911 mags to -- the Chip McCormack Power Mag is the only one I would use -- the Wilsons have been plagued with weak springs of late and the rest are pure garbage.

As far as any 1911 mags go I only use Wilson Elites and CMC Power Mags -- older Wilson I upgraded with Wolff Springs and the Tripp follower - losing a round of capacity but gaining huge reliability.
