I have a Kimber kit myself. Very accurate and fairly reliable. JA ciener makes one, and I think there is a Marvel kit out there. Maybe accurate arms as well. Give Google a go, should give you all available options. Good luck.

An STI kit from Freedom Ventures is $441 for 5" slides, with one mag. No idea about quality, just saw it in their catalog, FWIW.

The kimber mags are fine. No problems so far after a couple thousand rounds. In rereading my first post, it's advantage arms, not accurate arms.

I have access to a kimber upper kit for $425. but will need to find a frame still.

has a good talk with a guy who has been in involved in the retail & shooting sports for over 25 years, I mentioned that I was looking for a 1911 frame as he might have a connection to hook me up. I told him my plan for a build and was told to look for something other then a Kimber upper kit. to many problems and issues with it. he did say there mags are good but I would not be happy with there slide & barrel set up. He did say get a Colt or something else that was made of steel. So what would the something else be? Who else makes .22 conversion kit
