1911 style .22's, your experience with what's out there?

The fit and finish on the Chiappa isn't up to par with the GSG. The ones I've seen all look like they were held against the buffing wheel for too long. On top of that three people I know of that have had Chiappa 1911-22's all had them break in major ways. Now GSG's are not totally trouble free either. But I see and read FAR more success stories with GSG vs Chiappa.

I have no idea what the folks at Browning where smoking when they hatched the idea of an 80% size replica. Other than children and women with very small hands this gun fits no one. Oh sure, folks with medium and larger hands can hold and shoot it but it's simply not a good fit in the hand. And aside from feeling just plain wrong as a result it also will make it harder to hold in a way that the trigger finger fits right and pulls properly. So accuracy is going to suffer.

If you're after a 1911 shaped gun I'd have to say from where I'm sitting and typing that it's down to GSG or Kimber. Or a conversion kit from someone to fit onto a 1911 frame.

Mind you you're walking right past a wide array of very nice .22 handguns that simply don't happen to look like a 1911 to get to those.

I was catching up to some older Slam fire radio episodes and the guys seemed to also like the GSG, dispite it being in the 1911 family. ;)

Had a GSG for about a year now, put 1500 or so round bulk through it of various makes. No issues. I would highly recommend them. I read a lot about them only liking HV ammo but mine seems to eat what ever i throw at it. I wanted a browning but didn't like the fact that it was down sized.

Another + for Browning 1911 22.

Got the Regal and it's all metal with 3 dot sights.

Nice...accurate...super light...100% reliable.

Only issue...having it for a year...still not liking the reduced size.

A full size with that built quality will dominate the market.

The colts are fine, but not made by colt, but rather by walther (which is probably a good thing). On par with the gsg but about 100 more beans and in my limited experience with them fussier about ammo. When happy they do out shoot the gsg though.
