I bought a used Norico 1911 that someone had tuned up a bit. It shoots so well i want to put on ana djsutable rear target sight.... but I don't want to have to machine the slide.

Any sights i find listed require maching the dovetail. Is there one available that will slide right in? I am prepared to install a new front sght.

I saw one on ebay made by MMC, but theya re out of business, i think.

There are adjustable sights that will fit into the dovetail and sit on top of the frame. A higher front post is also needed.

I have that type of setup on a Llama 1911 copy but I can't see the manufacturer's name. The sight is similar to a Bomar target sight.

The MMC sight is still made, BoMar is the one that closed up shop.

Fusion firearms sells an adjustable target rear for a series 70. Not sure if you have to replace the front sight with them though.

I wrote to severl manufactuers last night, and got this answr back from Fusion

Hi Jim,
You would need one of our adjustable sight sets for the mil spec sight cuts, these are $69.95 and come with front and back sight.
Let us know if you need any further help, Thank you, Bob Fusion

Fusion Firearms has monthly specials. Right now they have non adjustable fibre optic sights on sale. If you go with them, and can wait a bit, check their site to see if the adjustables go on sale next month. The front sight is staked in place, and can be done yourself but seems to be a tricky job, from what I've read if you dont have a staking tool.
