Just looking for some feedback from some guys who have had work done by Rodger at Dark International. I have a Kimber Custom II that I have a new set of forged internals for, and I want to get a trigger job done on it. Rodger came recommended to me by a local dealer and just looking for some comments on how your 1911 trigger jobs by him turned out and how long the turn around time was. I live in NS so Im going to have to ship my pistol to whoever does the work and Id like to get it back in a reasonable amount of time, say one month max.

Roger did my 1911 trigger job and I love it! no creep, very crisp and oooohhhh so light. I am local so and we shoot at the same club so my turn around was quite reasonable.

Ill contact him tomorrow and see what the wait times are like. Id be willing to wait a little longer so long as the end result was worth it, and from what Im hearing it would be. Being that I have to ship my pistol I want to send it to the best guy possible.

Work was fine but s...l...o...w.......

To keep things in perspective, I've had other 'smiths do jobs like triggers, cut & re-crown, new bolt handle and they were also slow...maybe it's a "trade" thing? :p

There are maybe a dozen good pistol smiths in Canada, some of whom are very specialized. If the 'smith is any good, he'll have tons of work to do and not enough hours in a day to get it done. Roger is, by every single report I've read in the last 5 years, an absolute artist and a decent and reliable guy to deal with - he has lots of work. I would say from all of the reviews that the wait is worth it. Might want to get him to fit a bushing while it's in, that will normally turn a decently accurate 1911 into a tack driver, and probably won't add much in the way of cost or time to the work.

He did work on my Colt Combat Commander and he's a real pro! Top notch and very highly recommended. Turn around time for me was very reasonable.

Rodger built/tuned 6 guns for me they all have super trigs & they all hold less than 1.75" @ 25yds, the bulls eye ones hold 1.25" out of a ransom. [ av of 5, 5shot groups ]

Just a little update. I got my gun back last week, took about 6 weeks total for the turn around time which was fine. The end result is amazing, Ive only had the chance to put 400 rounds through it since I got it back (half through a .22 conversion) but I couldn't be happier. The pull turned out exactly as I wanted it with the weight I asked for and it breaks like a glass rod. Would most definitely recommend Rodgers services, and will continue to send him my future projects when needed. Thanks again to everyone that helped with the recommendation
