1911 unfired ejection

So I have a tuned Norc Commander tuned by Armco. It fails to eject an unfired 230 grain round but is no worries with the shorter snap caps. From what I could gather else where on the net this isn't entirely uncommon with all makes of 1911. I would just like to seek clarification on how common this is on here as I plan on selling it soon (have to many 1911's) and I wouldn't want to sell someone a gun that is flawed.

Do you have one of those recoil spring buffer thingies in it? Remove it then try again!

Are you shooting or just racking the slide? Oops don't answer that.

Take it out and try shooting it.

if you are reloading be sure your oal is the same as factory oal. if not i would guess at checking your ejector.

Sounds like the ejector was left too long? You should be able to eject 230g round nose loaded cartridges at the longest OAL possible.

Mine does the same, not really a problem unless clearing the pistol in action shooting. I reload, and just adjusted my oal slightly as I don't shoot max loads.
I dont remember my oal off the top of my head but can look it up if you need it.

I have already removed the Recoil pad thing. The ammo is factory American eagle, I'll check their Oal. How would I go about checking the extractor length and would it have to be sent to a gunsmith to fix?

We were chamber checking our reloads that were within spec, but I was only testing by putting one in the magazine. Every time I racked the slide it got caught up in the ejection port and wouldn't come out. So then I shortened the OAL to the bare minimum and it still did the same thing. Puzzled I put a commercial round into the magazine... again it got stuck in the ejection port.

So I reset the seating die to the correct OAL, filled a magazine up and every one chambered perfectly, with the last one getting stuck.

When shooting, never happened. This was with a Norc 1911, in .45 ACP.

Box stock 1911's (colt) in the original ejection port size often didnt' eject hardball unfired rounds well. That's how the lowered and flared ejection port came into being. The norc's use the original size, or at least much closer to it then most of the other clones made today.

yep, but it's been so long since anyone made a factory spec 1911 that we all forget.
