1911 Wolff springs too long?

Anyone who has replaced their springs with Wolff springs found that the safety/slide stop plunger spring is too long? If so, did you just cut off a few curls?

In my limited experience wolff springs are longer than stock, but they have earned a "go-to" reputation, so I never questioned it myself. That said, my aforementioned limited experience only applies to their M1A/M14 spring kit.
