1911A1 info

Hi all,
I am restoring a Reminton Rand 1911A1 and am hoping one of the guru's here can answer this for me. Is the lanyard ring supposed to be on the mainspring housing or on the mag? I have a mag with the loop but it looks like one has been filed off the msh at one point. Also is the slide stop supposed to be checkered?

The lanyard loop mag is probably much earlier than your gun. The WW2 mags did not have lanyard loops.

There should be a lanyard loop at the bottom of the MSH.

Can you provide us the serial number? The slide stop will depend on when it was made, it could be checkered or grooved.

Lanyard loops on original magazines, indicate that the mag was manufactured in 1916 or prior.
