1911's Pics Thread

My Colts together at last

I finally got off my butt and put my 2 favorite pistols together. Both are level "A" engraved by the same engraver @ Colt's Custom Shop, ivory grips and royal Blue finish.

One is in a factory box, the other in a home made work of progress.

I was playing with the camera again and wanted to share this with you guys. In the first pic are two Colt Series 70 MKIV's. One is the real thing and the other a reproduction.

There is a very interesting chapter in the book More Homicidal Humor, by Sgt. Brian Foster of the Houston Police Homicide Unit, about a man he calls Tommy T who once owned this gun. Tommy was an organized crime figure in Houston and Corpus Christi who is said to have murdered quite a few people with it. You can order the book from the author’s website, HomicidalHumor.Com.

I just have a very plain one, if anybody's interested in seeing it.

It has no rail, no firing pin safety, no adjustable sights, no night sights, no full length guide rod or tactical paint job or markings. But I still like it. ;)

Of course we want to see it. I also like them plain and simple like this one. Classic lines on a perfect pistol. Beautiful
