Too bad someone messed with what was probably a really nice 1942 mfg Colt by adding stupid looking sites to it. They are good sites but need to be mounted properly. But thank God they didn't mill the slide, though. At least you might be able to reinstall GI type sites to retro it back to how it should've looked.

The grips are not "officers" grips they are just a set of faux ivory grips that you can buy at any big gunshow in the states. Don't buy it for the "officers" story unless such providence can be authenticated.

Probably worth the $1K asking price, though. Me, if I bought it I'd get GI sites put on it, ditch the grips for some proper 1942 era Colt USGI grips. A 1942 Colt USGI should lool something like this:
