ok heres pics of my colt 1911 A1 i picked up today, the pachmayrs are temporary until i can get some nice walnut or cocobolo grips but they are still wayyy better then the ugly wooden ones it came with.

I'm jealous. Unlike just about every pistol I've ever bought, yours looks like it might have original, or at least period correct parts on it. Is that not a pre-a1 model?

truth be told i have no idea what period it is im in the process of looking that up, its been reblued though... getting a new barrel for it this ones pretty pitted up, ill hang onto the original though

ok yup i googled it and the serial number fits in the range for the pre A1's made between october 24th 1918- April 10th 1919

so im guessing if i got tri-dot sights installed i would be considered a bubba ... i wish i could take pics that would do justice to the blueing on this gun

Cyril William Upton Chivers. I posted about it a couple pages ago, but since I don't have anything new, I'm recycling my material these days. Scan of his attestation sheet under the pistol in the last pic. Hoping Archives Canada will send me a real copy of it when I contact them.
