Norinco beater. Runs well. List of mods:

previous owner:

WC sights
WC drop in beavertail - don't like drop ins much, not going to bother changing it as it works well after slight fitting
Hogues - work well on a cheap blaster

me:
WC Bulletproof ejector, extractor, sear, disconnector, and hammer
WC trigger
Beveled magwell (probably overdid it a little on the rear, but no issues from it)
3M tread tape - not paying to refinish a $300 gun after checkering it, so this is a cheap solution
Blaze orange'd the FS. Not paying to machine the slide, and not a big fan of staked tenon front sights so I'll just leave it as is. Works fine.
Polished feed ramp - slightly corrected geometry here.
Wolff springs throughout

The Norinco frame and slide are pretty good, actually. The steel is quite hard and the holes all seem to be in the right places. This gun is not what I'd call a work of art but it does run quite well. The only pieces that needed fitting at all were the drop-in grip safety and the trigger. The grip safety worked fine with the factory trigger, but I had to fit it a bit with the WC trigger in place. I tightened the trigger bow in the frame by dimpling the bow to widen it, the filing it down to fit. Took up a lot of the vertical play in the frame.

In total, I think I might have $600 in the gun...maybe 700 max.

I am waiting for my second pair of Operator IIs to arrive this week. I love how aggressive they are and the mag release cut out is perfect. OK sorry everyone this is a pic forum not a discussion forum. I will post a pic this week with my 1911 sporting the new grips. :)
