Man what beautys makes you want one of each one.. I've got the 1911 disease now

Got my new unfired 2005 vintage Les Baer Prowler III earlier this month. 1st range trip on the 01/18/2014 and 550 flawless rounds fired in a few hours. Second range trip & 3-400 rounds are on tomorrow's agenda! Owned some damn fine 1911's over the years (Ed Brown SS Executive Target, Springfield Professionnal Operator CRG prefix and Nowlin bbl, Valtro 1998A1, both duty treated Dan Wesson Valor & VBOB) and can say without a doubt that this one is the best 1911 I've own. It's also the first and only true range report I've done on a 1911, that means a lot. Yup, I enjoy it that much. Definitely a keeper.

For those of you wondering, the pistol came out of the Les Baer shop in August 2005 with the following:

- Guaranteed 1 1/2" groups @ 50yards
- Baer Coat complete pistol
- Rear Adj. Night Sight & Front Night Sight
- 3 1/2LB trigger pull
- Round complete pistol for tactical carry

I did strip it after the initial 550 rounds breakin. This one has a FLGR with reverse bushing so no need of a wrench. A simple paper clip and its a done deal. It is tight as a bank vault and extremely accurate (test target shows a 10 shot at 50 yards group measuring an incredible .814" center to center).

This one really is a special piece for me, I used the slide of my first ever auto handgun, and reborned it into a 2011. Come at me bros

It shot well in 1911, but hand fitting the new (wide) frame, made it an awesome shooter.

Congrats on that commercial CGM deadman. Are the small parts supposed to be fireblued?

I believe the bright fire blued parts were discontinued completely by around C4500. If memory serves and the internet didn't lie to me!
