I am pretty new into handgun shooting.Recently bought my first 1911.It is Para-ord.P16-40LTD.Gun is new,not fired but there is one thing that worries me;once you press the trigger without engaging beavertail safety,it is not enabled to press all the way but while pressing the finger on the trigger and slowly engage the beavertail safety the trigger goes "click".
Is this how it supouse to be or something is wrong!?
This is all of course done with empty gun(no round in the chamber and no magazine in the gun),checked and observed before playing with the trigger.

That sounds about right, mine does the same thing. You are just disengaging the safety in such a way as it acts like another trigger. As long as the hammer doesnt drop when you are not depressing the beavertail safety, all is well.

Does your barrel have the spiraling in it? :p

NAA.

He did but that was several years back.At that time i didn't bother about handguns that much,
The most i care was hunting cause that was mine main concern.
What i really asked was just to find out from people that deal with it every day.It is the same thing as the road test, you know everything about Park brake, neutral what does what but to start doing something on your own like to change brakes or even transmission.Unless you are into mechanics or sooped up cars you always ask before you do or let someone else do it.
However thanks for the info and reply guys...
