hello CGN universe....was wondering if anybody out there has good reviews on any not too expensive 1911's out there....thanks

Best try a search on here before you get flamed....comes up regular as clockwork...start with norinco..or Sam, and then depending on budget work up.....
Personally I've had a couple of norinco gov model and commander, sold them all except the lattest commander,fo front sight, adj rear, reasonable fit and finish, average trigger, and is surprisingly accurate....but for around 350$, it's hard to go wrong...good luck..

I'm as big a cheap skate as you'll find and have a few Norinco 1911's. I like them, but they are kind of a project gun to tinker with. I bought a SAM recently as a gift for my wife, and it's a way nicer gun for not a lot more money. If I was looking for a gun to shoot the way it came out of the box, I'd go for the SAM.

I love the 1911 but I personally avoid Chicom.

Not that they aren't serviceable, but I always stretch a little further and I never regret it.

I recently bought a Remington 1911 R1. I like it! I paid $700 +tax and applied for and got a $100 rebate.

No regrets whatsoever.

Norinco Government model 1911 from CanadaAmmo @ $299.99. You just can't beat it.
And best of all, it has no "Norinco" or "Made in China" markings.

I just took the plunge and ordered a Spartan. Thought I better grab one now since they have disco'd them.
