1913 lee enfield

Well, you might not believe me now, LOL, but a couple of years back I bought a 1913 SMLE MkIII made at Enfield, rebarreled in 1930 and the metal was absolutely pristine; original or refinished at Enfield I don't know, but exactly as per the original. The bore was excellent. I was thrilled to get it even though it was cut between the band and the nosecap and the stock was varnished. When first built these rifles had certain parts such as the safety, trigger, cocking piece and cutoff oil-blacked and then lacquered, producing a semi-matt black finish in contrast to that nice blue on the rest of the metal. This rifle has those original oil-blacked parts and except for the wood looked like it had been in a time capsule since 1930. I paid about $200. and couldn't get my wallet out fast enough.

Ay yay yay... papa had one of these rifles in the old country. Marked year 1914 and nothing cut off of it. One day I get mad after I fell of the mule and I throw the gun in the river. I did not know it had so much value
