Here's a very nice 1911 with serial number C 68xx with it's accoutraments. Sat in a drawer for about 70 years... no Marcus, it's not for sale presently :)

Holster is one of the original 5000 Mills paterns that came across the St Lawrence in the dead of night. Canadian marked.

Due to a change in 'living circumstances' circa 1998 I decided to sell off most of my 'collection'.... which I did. I went from what was in the pic to just two 1911's. I've since been lucky enough to add back a few more as my 'living circumstances', subsequent to the above event, changed for the better.... ;) :D

Well that's good to hear. More Colts mean things are looking up!

As for your 1911 Pete, that's darned near unreal! Nice catch. I would love to find one of those Mills 1911 holsters!
 
I bought a 1929 colt 38 super and a 1943 colt govt .45 in victoria bcin 1973. The 38 super is engraved with a RCAF pilots name and is in mint condition, as is the .45
