They are equally excellent rifle,the difference is the caliber, pattern 14 in .303 or model 1917 in 30.06. The .303 is a very good caliber but the 30.06 is better IMAO.Ok,
So I have a question that I hope will stir up a good ebate that will help me decide between the Enfirled Pattern 1914 or the Eddystone 1917. Which is the better rifle and why?

Yes, I forgot to mention in the original thread that the cal. is irrelevant. We all know the difference between the Brtish .303 and the US of A's 30-06. So, if everyone thinks that it JUST comes down to what cal. you pefer then this debate is mute. BUT, if you have other reasons; historical, stories, experiences, what great grandad used, etc, let's keep it going?
