Hoping the knowledgeable folks here would be able to provide some info.

It seems that I'm in need of some info about 1915 Spandau water cooled MGs. I have spent some time looking online. Most info seems to be from south of the line. Enough variable info to be inconsistent even.

-Curious to find out accurate info on issued parts/ kit ,tripods etc.
- what to look for condition / possible markings , etc,
- are they common / uncommon ?
-Any other historical info would be appreciated as well.

Feel free to reply by PM if you prefer !!!!
Thanks in advance !!!!

Get hold of a copy of "The Devil's Paintbrush" by Dolf Goldsmith; a Collector Grade book.

Most MG08s/MG08/15s in Canada were brought back as war booty. Their serial numbers are recorded, and the when, where and by whom they were captured can be learned.

Second "The Devils Paintbrush" Great resource.

Need a LOT more details on what you are looking at in order to help.

There are a few of us on here with some hands on knowledge and neat stuff tucked away both live and dewat depending on when you got in the game.

Hoping the knowledgeable folks here would be able to provide some info.

Thanks for the info !!!!
I'm looking for information as an acquaintance " may" have located what he thinks could potentially be one of the above.
Since I'm a sporting arms type of guy, I thought I would reach out to the gun nutz community !

Will have to look Into this further and see what this may turn into.

I tell you, my shelf of Collector Grade Publications could easily have funded a couple high end milsurps but the info in them is priceless. Buy myself one every birthday. Anyones birthday. The only ones I don't have are the ones on the SA80 and Hitler's Garands.

A companion book for information would be,

"The Grand Old Lady of No Man's Land : the Vickers Machinegun By Goldsmith, Dolf L. ".

Mad Mallard and Recce21. Also keen to assist on the WWI German MG front!!
