1917 film due for release soon

It will be in the IMAX theaters on Jan. 24.

Star Wars has been hogging them.

I'm waiting until then to see it.

YES !! I just saw it today and the whole time was thinking to self, this would be great in IMAX. Second thought was this was a mash up of Apocalypse Now and Saving Private, Ryan set in the First World War. Two thumbs up here but wish I had watched it in IMAX.

Just a casual observation of movie reviews on CGN, but is there any movie out there from any genre that has had a generally positive overall review from members? Seems as though people on here dislike to vehemently abhor most movies these days...

And by generally positive review, I'd go as low as a simple majority of 50% +1.

Craven 2 - how about 'Hollywood type'? armchair critics and want to be commandos are always worth a beer + popcorn, just saying

lots of gob

No armchairs here, but the cineplex seats are nice and wide now and recline. Enjoyed the movie very much but wish I had seen it in IMAX.

Watched it last night with my son and a friend.

At one point our hero is shouting "Lieutenant!"

We all swore that one of his shouts was "Looo tenent". All the others were "Lef tenent"

We replayed it several times. It was "Loo tenent" Don't think a Brit would ever say such a thing, would he?

I KNEW I heard that too! Thought I misheard as the next time he said it properly.

I am not typically a fan of war movies but this movie appears to be well done and with a different view perspective. I will want to see it because I like films that are filmed well and with good costumes and cinematography.

I saw it in the VIP lounge with some friends. Comfy seats and cold beer make for a positive viewing experience! Overall, I thought it was a decent show, the no man’s land scenes were downright spooky....
