1921 Winchester...Do I have the commemoretives' anscestor?

Hello to all,

This is a lovely older 94. Perfect in everyway except that it lost all collector value due to the refinish. I am thinking of putting it back to original and maybe taking it for hunting. I am just wondering when they started gold plating because if it is an old refinishing job, like in the 40's or 50's I would probably leave it as it is.

Any ideas or comments are welcome!

Refinish the refinish?
Go wear the refinish off of it now.
Unique in it's own way.
In a couple hundred years it'll looky just right.
Then you can really enjoy it.
