I am trying to get a sense of what the values might be for the following guns.
I am aware of the values and demand in the US, but that is not relavent here in Canada.
I would appreciate any opinions or comments in this regard.

Thanks,
David

Model 1928A1 Thompson smg, 1942 manufactured by Savage.

nice looking stuff

the only one ill comment on is the m1a1

the last 3 i bought $350.00 for one from SE asia well used, $500.00 for the one in(about 2003)

and the 3rd in very close shape to yours for 700.00 in 2005-06

there are at least 3x as many para carbines now then were ever made by inland

many many fakes some VERY hard to tell

id need to examine it in person to tell but lets say it is correct

id say to a collector here in canada $1000.00 + but carbines just are not in demand here myself id pay no more then $800.00ish as i seem to be able to find them easily (carbines in general)

Contact 148.

Before I bought this M1A1 carbine I knew nothing about correct markings so I sent the photos to Bruce Canfield.
I assumed because he wrote the books that would be a good place to start.

These were his comments:

David,

From what I could tell, I didn't see anything out of line and it looks like a nice example. Original early M1A1s are very hard to find and congratulations on your find.

Bruce Canfield

Based on his comments....I bought it.

I know of an Auto Ordinance Thompson , #### and click , in excellent , almost pristine condition , without a compensator that was just sold in Canada for $1,800.00 . Every bit as good of shape as yours . I know of a live one with a Cutts compensator that was just sold in Nevada for $25,000.00 and the condition isn't much better than good . Prices in the USA mean nothing . Saw a Thompson , maker i don't recall , with a comp , dewat but i don't remember if it was #### and click in very good condition in the EE awhile ago , the seller bumped it 5 times at $2,400.00 firm and he never sold it . My buddy got the Auto Ord for $1,800.00 but it wasn't on the EE . By that i'd say that yours would sell between $1,800.00 and $2,000.00 , but you can ask $2,400.00 and never sell it like the other guy . I don't know how the manufacturer reflects in the price . Maybe yours is worth more to a collector than an Auto Ord , maybe less . Good luck .

All three pieces are incredible...that '97 is a thing of beauty. If it was a solid frame it would be WW1 era. There are great Craig Riesch book on carbines is the best reference.
Check the rivets on the stock pad...Are they solid or hollow? Hollow are fake, solid are real.
Thanks for sharing

I sold a M1A1 a few years ago off this site for $1500, and had 3 guys lined up for it.

Dewat Thompsons go for between $1200 to $1800 these days.

Nice markings on the trench gun. I would think $800-$1100 (with bayonet) should be realized on that example.

Nice kit.

If the para carbine is legit minimum $800 and up from there easily in Canada more south of the border where if would fetch probably $2000 without someone blinking.

The Trench Gun is very nice. Again your looking at a minimum of $1200 (Divorce Sale) and up from there. The condition is excellent and it might push well above $2000 with the right buyer. South of the border that shotgun is a $3000-6000 piece.

Sad thing is you can't export any "US" or "Flaming Bomb" marked firearms into the USA. They ban the importation as they still might be "US Property" and might be stolen or not paid for to the US Government.

There was a Trench Gun for sale in the EE about 4 months ago. Don't know if you can still find the post but if you can, you might want to ask the seller's opinion on yours and what he sold his for.

I am still selling a Winchester Trench Gun. Not as nice as the one above, but nicely marked.
I recently sold a Stevens Trench Gun as well. Millarm gave me $1250 cash and sold it in two months for $1650.

That is a very nice Trench Gun!

Most Definately not one of those $400 "Rode Hard and Put Away Wet Vietnam Import Rework Jobs" Trench Guns from Epp's and Lever's a few years back.
