I was looking through my junk and found a great condition 1936 s/42 k98 mauser that was converted to 308 by the Israelis. lots of eagles etc Converter
must have just let it all go by.

I have a 1936 dated JP Sauer & Sohn that is a RC. If only she could talk and tell stories of what she had seen.

A beautiful rifle, and of course an impeccable presentation for collection or historical use through your photographs. This is what wet's my appetite to start moving towards K98K's after stumbling on a nice Yugo capture and owning and handling my first K98,..but I don't think my meager milsurp budget could survive it.

Matching originals aren't cheap for sure but there are lots of cool variations in the post war refurbs/manufacture that would make a neat collection. If the door closes on importing for us then I'm going to start collecting all of them with a passion.
