1938 Browning Auto-5 Value?

Hey everyone,

I really hate to be "that guy" and ask a value question, but I'm out of my comfort zone on this one.

Here's the full gun. From 1938, so it's not perfect, but no cracks in the wood and the bluing is nice. 28" barrel (actually 27. whatever it is) with a full choke

Suicide safety

Raised cheek piece

And a factory front sling swivel

Any ideas? I'm told the raised cheek piece was a European thing. I've also added an original (as far as I know) Browning FN buttplate since the raised cheek piece picture

Weird safety and stock. Unless it has some intrinsic collector value, most Excellent condition 2-3/4" Belgian A5s go for anywhere between $350 and $500. Neato gun, though.

The safety is surprisingly intuitive, I don't mind it. Same with the stock, it feels different when you think about it, but when you're shooting it's fine.

I wouldn't go as far as rate it as "Excellent" (a few dings and scratches), but thanks for the price range. I was thinking in there somewhere, like you I just wasn't sure if the raised cheekpiece added any "collector" value.

I have (and had a few more) Mag Twelves (both Jap and Belgian) and I feel more comfortable pricing those than the 2 3/4" models.
