1938 German production 8x56r collector value??

Marginal collector value, Century brought them in back in the early 90s by the ton. About 2$ a round for loose, 3-4$ per round is what I see people asking for rounds in the clips. If its all Wollersdorf/Hirtenberger 1938, with I or VIII then thats about what you would expect. If you find AP, Guard loads etc, they can get a little more on the collectors market.
Keep an eye on the I 1938 loads, I used to get some primer failures on those, if firing in an M95 be sure to wear glasses.

Back in the day, we bought that ammo by the case. You could see the progression of Nazi influence (to put it mildly) by the headstamps. The ammo I have left has various headstamps mixed in the stripper clips. It is hot ammo, and, yes, we had the odd dud. I see the odd bit at gun shows, with some dealers hawking it as the rarest ammo on earth, and priced accordingly!
Might end up keeping 2 full clip of them and shoot the rest. Like Kjohn said i find it quite interesting to see the change of regime. 1938 I stamped with the austrian eagle and the same round 8 month later stamped with Hitler favorite bird.
Also got two clip that have the bullet silver with what appear like either the czech lion or bulgarian lion crest, anything interesting about those??

Not really, the Bulgarian stuff with a Rampant lion is even less collectable, the Hungarian is a little more, sort of in between the Austrian and the Bulgarian. I found the Bulgarian stuff to seemingly be even more corrosive than the others though.
