I'm posting some photos and info on some hand guns that are in my father's estate that the family hope to sell before the government puts any bans in place. I'll post them one at a time. We're just trying to get an idea of value before they go on the sale sections. I know time is tight, so they'll go up fast. We would appreciate any help you could give us. There are some milsurp and some civilian that I'll post in the pistol and revolvers section. I'm sorry for the poor info. I don't have them at my house, but if you have specific questions I'll try to get them answered. Thank you.

edit: sorry, I had to join teams to increase the numbers of photos I could post.

First up is a prohib Luger made in 1939, serial # 3362, it has # 62 in five places on handgun, magazine serial # 2546, proof mark eagle 655.

Value is tough to peg right now. Prohib pistols are always lower in price than restricted pistols as there is a significantly smaller market of people who can buy them. Toss in the uncertainty of long term ownership and I think you might find there is little to no market at this time.

Have you considered selling the pistols as a lot to a business that might be able to export them?

Prohib Lugers from the WWII era generally go for about $500-$700 depending (there are a few examples that go for higher but they are for collectors). Being that your father's isn't numbers matching then I'd say around the lower end. I just paid $600 for a numbers matching (except the magazines)1942 Luger.

Being that it's from your father, you could very well have that transferred to you or another family member as a 12.7 inherited handgun and keep it in the family. ArmedGinger is in line with my experience on Luger pricing.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, the 12.7 is an option. We would rather have them in the hands of a collector if we get a decent price. I went to Winnipeg to take some more photos and it is in better condition than I expected. There will be more pictures in the sales ad with some congealed grease removed. I took a look at the 6 that went through Switzer's on June 9th. None had matching mags. In my opinion this is much better than the two that went for $708 and $838 (assuming 12% Manitoba sales tax) with the missing part or poorly replaced front sight. Not as good as the top two that sold for $1803 or $1932. But at least as good as the one that sold for $1159 and between that and the one that sold for $1545. But I may be biased. Take a look at the photos and if your interested make an offer. This was originally brought into the family by my younger brother and left to my father when he passed away. He collected German military and this went to military shows in Manitoba with his displays of uniforms and gear so a few of you may have seen it before.
