For some of the Lee Enfield gurus that are on this forum, I've had a slightly odd no1 Mk3* for a couple of years. My understanding when looking into the "Dispersal Rifles" that these didn't see production untill after the BSA factory was bombed in november of 1940, which would mean this was produced in the last month of the year? I do know that BSA was producing No1 Mk3 rifles with the magazine cut off up untill this point, but these would have the aforementioned cut off as well as the full BSA markings on the socket, not the B then date prefix as seen here. The barrel is also marked to be made in 1940 as well. There is another set of odd markings on the opposing side of the reciever socket which i have no idea what they reference, same can be found on the underside of the nose cap. Any ideas?
