No pics, sorry.

I'd already blown my wad by the time I saw this at Martin's booth. He has it behind the counter. It's legit.

Someone here needs to talk to Martin and give it a good home. I didn't even ask the price because it made me too sad to walk away from it.

Many "sniper" rifles from shipment, that was reexported by Germany, have recently made notches (they are painted with black paint)

Why "behind the counter"? I was looking hard there yesterday for an interesting SVT and found nothing.

Not sure, but I suspect because he wasn't sure about price/value, and didn't want to put it out with the rest of his rifles. I suspect he's holding it back for the collectors in his little black book.

No black paint. Appropriately worn bluing. I got a chance to give it a good look over, and it had all the signs of being a proper sniper notch - not a squared cut, but slightly rounded at the bottom, etc.

Also, Martin is very clear when he lists repro snipers. Never seen him try to pass something off as real when its a repro. He's put too much effort into building up a good rep with collectors to blow it on trying to pass off a fake. I was talking with him about PU snipers (he had a couple or three repros for sale at the show), and he gave me the sly wink to let me know I should wait a couple of months for paperwork/shipping/customs to clear on another shipment coming down the line.

I was almost physically ill having to hand it back to Martin.
