Probably a stupid question but which sling I need for a Lithgow No.1 MK3 made in 1941? No.1 slings and No.4 sling are the same?

I did not think a rifle came rifle factory with a sling - maybe issued by the unit that the rifle went to? Like bayonet frogs? - Different among different units and countries? I really do not know that for certain - someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly, I am sure.

The canvas slings are correct. Australia made their own slings. Also during WW2 slings where provided by Britain and India military to troops fighting in India- Burma area so it’s possible any country’s sling could have been used. Stuff gets mixed up during wartime and troops used what was available. If trying to keep everything the same an Australian stamped sling would be appropriate. The leather slings where used by rear guard troops and usually didn’t see frontline service.
