1941 Portugese Contract rifle

I gt that heavy-load Partizan ammo from Wolverine, just 4 miles from here.

They have a sub-forum here, under dealers. Send them a message, find out about case-lots or whatever.

It is GREAT brass for reloading, too. Trade-Ex has the slugs.

So they do, and I've also heard the brass is very good.

I made a mistake though, it is the hot-loaded Prvi 196 gr. SP that I haven't seen anywhere.

I guess this link should be in "Milsurp collecting", but seeing as we kind of wandered a bit, here are a few poor shots of my TGF 1950: http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?107242-tgf-1950-Mauser-98-question&p=2398728#post2398728

From what I can see of it, it looks nice!

You tease us by not including a full body shot.

I hope you aren't considering selling it, but if you are, I want first crack at her, please.

I didn't realize that there are still post war Czech rifles in mint shape out there.

Not sure how it compares to the Privi. At least they are both european.

Thanks!

S&B made the Czech military M43 too.

So far, it is the most accurate surplus 7.62x39mm that I've shot.

ive bin shooting that through my port k98, stuff is great i prefer it over privi

In what ways do you find it better?

Does it burn cleaner than the Prvi?

I've found that Prvi is dirty like Winchester ammo.

Its still pretty dirty like prvi, i found it to be loaded hotter but in all fairness i did ony have a few rounds of prvi so i am not the best judge but they both went boom so i am happy and it made good groups

Up until yesterday, there would have been a better chance of the world coming to an end before I sell any of my military rifles.:p I am thinking that there will be a bit of a hullabaloo when the time comes for these rifles to move. I will most likely be up strumming a harp, or would be better off doing so. I have been slowly tagging each one with whatever info I have about them. It is never ending. For example, I learned last night that the TGF 1950 is Iraqi marked. In a post I read somewhere, some time ago, TGF 1950 rifles were spoken of as though they were hardly worth mentioning. I would suspect an excellent example brought into a room with dedicated collectors standing around would bring about quite a goodly amount of mention. That's only my uneducated guess....

I haven't been able to take any of my rifles out in the daylight to get decent shots, so no full body shots!

Pity, I would like to see the full profile.

I wasn't sure of the name of the TGF 1950, but it's one of the rifles that I've wanted to add to my small collection for awhile.

I really like the Brazilian M1935 and the Portuguese 1941 Mausers.

Basically, anything made at Oberndorf during the 30's and early 40's in 7x57mm or 7.92x57mm.

The post-war FN Mausers chambered in .30-06 interest me too, but I haven't seen any in Canada with the crest still intact.
