Hi all,
I am planning on selling this rifle, but don’t want to sell it too cheap, or too expensive. But don’t have a clue what the value is.
Can I ask what reasonable price I should be asking?
Hope I am not going against any rules by doing this. If I am moderators please delete this post..
It is a numbers matching rifle, magazine present, and good bore.non cut barrel that has been in my late fathers gun cabinet for years.
I see renewed rifles like this with proper wood and non altered sights going for $1100 Plus.. so what gives with these lowball replies? Am I missing something?

Your pictures are not of much help.
I the rifle still full wood and original, or was it spoererized?

The rear sight was cut down, so I can imagine the rest of the rifle isn’t better.

I see you added a most important picture, the gun was sporterized, meaning low value.
If someone offers $200, take it and run.

Doesn't have a handguard, rear sight is altered. Going to assume it is sported. $150, if bore is fine.

Don’t see a magazine, price goes down to 100 bucks max

Yes there is a mag, didn’t see it on my phone, so back up to $200.

BTW this is the correct magazine

OK, latest photo shows that the rifle has been sported. Another photo shows a magazine is present.
No mention of bore condition.
IF the bore is fine, it is a perfectly useful hunting rifle. If the altered sight is useful. Not everyone can use a notch sight just in front of the eye.
$150. Might bring $250 at auction, but that yields a net of $175, less the expense of getting it to the auction.

I've got my grandfather's sporterized No.1 Mk. 3. He picked it up in the '60's to hunt deer in central Ontario with some guys from work. He managed to kill 2 does with it back then. After that, it went into the closet and wasn't handled much until after he died.

I have it now and, to me, it's worth its weight in gold.

But on the open market, it'd be worth no more than 200$. Probably less.

While the rifle you have would be worth a considerable amount of money if it were unmolested, in the condition that it's in, I can't see it being worth anything more than my grandfather's gun.

If you got it from someone who you care about, it might be more worthwhile to you to keep it. If not, take what you can get for it. It's not worth much money.

Sporterized version never fetch much, especially ones that can't be returned to original. There are some sporters selling now at Epps for $250-300. I would not expect to get more than that.
